Lyophilizate and solvent for suspension for injection for rabbits
The vaccine contains after reconstitution attenuated virus of myxomatosis to ensure an active immunization of rabbits against myxomatosis.
Vial with the lyophilized suspension contains
Active substances:
Poxvirus myxomatosae attenuatum 105.3±1.3 CCID50.
Excipients:
freeze-drying medium into 1 ml.
Vial with the solvent contains
Excipients:
water for injections 0.5 ml.
Indications
An active prophylactic immunization of rabbits from 4 weeks of age against myxomatosis. After the vaccine application, immunity is created and the vaccinated animals are protected after 10 to 14 days. Immunity persists for at least 1 year. The young from immunized mothers are protected by maternal antibodies. These antibodies persist for approximately 4 weeks.
Contraindications
Do not use in cases of an organ and feverish disease. The vaccine must not be used in case the animals suffer from myxomatosis.
Dosage and method of administration
Intradermal application (i.d.) by application double-needle
Lyophilized suspension is dissolved in 0.5 ml of the solvent (creation of 50 doses). Immunization dose for one animal, irrespective of breed, age, sex and weight, is the amount of the vaccine contained in holes and grooves of the application double-needle. Immunization dose is applied intradermally by piercing an ear by the application double-needle in the upper part of the auricle so that big ear vessels are not insulted.
Intradermal application (i.d.) by needleless applicator
Lyophilized suspension is dissolved in 2 ml of the solvent (creation of 20 doses). Immunization dose for one animal, irrespective of breed, age, sex and weight, is 0.1 ml. immunization dose is applied intradermally by the needleless applicator in the lower half of the auricle.
Subcutaneous application (s.c.)
Lyophilized suspension is dissolved in 10 ml of the solvent (creation of 20 doses). Immunization dose for one animal, irrespective of breed, age, sex and weight, is 0.5 ml. Immunization dose is applied subcutaneously.
Animals may be primo-vaccinated from the age of 10 weeks. In regions with an unfavorable infection situation, rabbits may be primary vaccinated from 4 weeks of age with a re-vaccination over 6 weeks after primary vaccination, further revaccination is possible over 4 months after first re-vaccination.
To maintain permanent immunity in breeding animals, regular annual revaccination is recommended.
The youngsters from immunized mothers are protected by maternal immunity that persists for approximately 4 weeks after birth. Residual amount of specific maternal antibodies may negatively influence the vaccination effect.

Each dose represents the combination of one vial with lyophilized suspension and one vial with solvent.
