Emulsion for injection for pigs
The liquid vaccine containing inactivated verotoxin VT2e produced by bacterium Escherichia coli to ensure an active immunization of piglets against edematous disease of pigs.
Each one dose (1 ml) contains
Active substances:
Verotoxinum inactivatum VT2e NLT 150 000 U.
Adjuvants:
oil emulsion into 1.0 ml.
Excipients:
formaldehyde NMT 0.2 mg,
thiomersal NMT 0.1 mg.
Indications
An active prophylactic immunization of piglets from age of 10 days to edematous disease of pigs. After primary vaccination and revaccination, a gradual elevation of antibodies is induced within approximately 4 weeks after the first immunization. From weeks 4 to 10, the level of antibodies is at the same level and, thereafter, it starts to decrease gradually.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals with the already developed clinical signs of the disease and animals with fever.
Dosage and method of administration
The immunization dose per 1 animal is 1 ml, irrespective of sex and weight. The vaccine is administered subcutaneously (s.c.) into the prepatellar skin fold.
It is advisable to carry out the primary vaccination at an age of 10 to 14 days. It is advisable to carry out the re vaccination over 10 to 14 days after the primary vaccination, however at least 3 days prior to weaning.
