Emulsion for injection for pigs
The liquid vaccine containing inactivated virus of parvovirosis of pigs and serovars S1a, S1b, S2a and S2b of inactivated bacterium Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae to ensure an active immunization of pigs against parvovirosis of pigs and swine erysipelas.
Each one dose (2 ml) contains
Active substances:
Parvovirus suis inactivatum ≥ 1 IU*,
Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae inactivatum ≥ 1 IU*.
IU*: antibodies amount interpreted by a number of IU in reference serum according to Ph. Eur. monography.
Adjuvants:
oil emulsion NLT 0.30 ml,
saponin NMT 0.10 mg.
Excipients:
formaldehyde NMT 1.00 mg,
thiomersal NMT 0.20 mg,
solvent into 2.0 ml.
Indications
An active prophylactic immunization of pigs against porcine parvovirosis and swine erysipelas. Full immunity is achieved within 4 weeks after basic vaccination. The immunity persists for 6 months. To provide long-term immunity, revaccination of animals is recommended.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals with developed clinical signs of the disease and pregnant animals until 2 weeks prior to expected farrowing and 4 weeks after farrowing.
Dosage and method of administration
The immunization dose per 1 animal is 2 ml, irrespective of sex and weight. The vaccine should be administered deep intramuscularly (i.m.) at the site of the neck, behind the ear.
Gilts and sows
Basic vaccination – one dose 6 weeks prior to mating, second dose after 3 weeks. They are maintained in the immunity by regular application (i.e. revaccination) of one dose 4 to 2 weeks before each farrowing or every 6 months.
Boars
Basic vaccination – one dose 6 weeks prior to their inclusion into the breeding program, second dose after 3 weeks. They are maintained in the immunity by regular application (i.e. revaccination) of one dose every 6 months.
