An active prophylactic immunization of pigs from 4 months of age against atrophic rhinitis of pigs (caused by bacterium Bordetella bronchiseptica and DNT produced by bacterium Pasteurella multocida). The vaccine is especially designed for pregnant animals to ensure protection of their piglets by specific colostral immunity against rhinitis of pigs. The immunity develops within 3 weeks after primary vaccination, the full immunity is reached after 3 weeks after revaccination. The sufficient immunity persists 6 months. Colostral immunity in piglets starts immediately after birth when piglets received colostrum and persists approximately for 3 to 4 months.

Contraindications

Do not use in animals with developed clinical signs of the disease, animals suffering from a high temperature and pregnant animals 2 weeks prior to expected farrowing.

Dosage and method of administration

The immunization dose per 1 animal is 2 ml, irrespective of sex and weight. The vaccine should be administered deep intramuscularly (i.m.) at the site of the neck, behind the ear. Pregnant gilts and sows are primary vaccinated 8 to 6 weeks prior to expected farrowing and revaccinated 4 to 2 weeks prior to expected farrowing. The sows are maintained in immunity by regular revaccination 4 to 2 weeks prior to every next farrowing. In case the period between two farrowing exceeds 10 months, it is advisable to perform vaccination and revaccination according to the above mentioned process. Born piglets coming from immunized mothers are protected against atrophic rhinitis of pigs by colostral immunity. In a case the young animals are vaccinated, it is advisable to perform primary vaccination from 4 months of age with revaccination after 3 to 4 weeks. Breeding boars are maintained in immunity by regular revaccination performed every 6 months.
